Now we finally have something to disagree on! I feel very, very strongly that Our Hospitality is Keaton’s funniest and most perfect film.
My top 5 Keaton:
5. Steamboat Bill Jr.
4. The Navigator
3. The General
2. Sherlock Jr.
1. Our Hospitality
As you know, I feel that “Our Hospitality” is a very good Buster Keaton film hence my * * * 1/2 stars (out of * * * *) rating. That is no faint praise at all. I think my thing is that when I watch that and “Three Ages” and look at the majority of his work beginning with “Sherlock Jr.” “Our Hospitality” and “Three Ages” seem like warmups by comparison. Nevertheless, I highly respect your opinion:)
