Before I do an annual Noirvember post this month (it is November), I want to write a post dedicated to Steve, a regular visitor to this site (click here to view his Youtube channel). He has been a regular visitor to my site since 2020 and it has been a long time since I wrote a blog entry dedicated to him and myself considering that I have been watching various Moviedrome videos on Youtube since 2010 🙂 UK viewers mostly remember that each film would be introduced by British cult director Alex Cox (Repo Man and Sid and Nancy among others) 🙂 Anyway, this hour-long BFI video took place in five months ago in June and it is very insightful talk that I would like to share with all of you dear readers below 🙂

Thanks for the link, John. I was an avid watcher of the Moviedrome series at the time, and enjoyed seeing the video of the talk.
Best wishes, Pete.
Interesting video and comments on Youtube. I really miss Moviedrome and like a lot of people wish the BBC would show some repeats.
I really loved this video. It’s great that Moviedrome has been honoured like this. It shows what an impact the show has had. I just think this vid is brilliant. It’s a joy to watch. It’s great hearing about how the show was made and all those anecdotes about the show. It’s a dream come true for Moviedrome fans. My favourite bits are everything that Alex and Nick say. He really was a great producer and is largely responsible for making Moviedrome what it was. Nick and Alex are very much alike and you can see why they worked so well together and had such a great collaboration. This was the perfect tribute to Moviedrome and it’s great that it was done.
The Sunset Boulevard into was shown it was possibly the upload of it from my youtube channel that was shown. It would be really cool if it was.
One downside was that other guy John Maclean. I thought he was interesting as the guide at the box factory in The Simpsons episode Bart Gets Famous.
Also, another intro was uploaded. Whadaya think?

So sorry for the late response Steve 🙂 I just got my new laptop uploaded today, so I will be posting more frequently now 🙂 I loved everything about the video too and the collaboration between Alex and Nick was truly a match made in heaven as you so eloquently imply 🙂
That would be really cool, If your upload of the Sunset Boulevard intro was the one they chose 🙂
I agree about John Maclean, I wish he could have sounded more animated at this event 🙂
I shall check out the upload right now 🙂
