  1. One thing I love about your posts is that they give me a nudge to seek out film I haven’t seen yet. Cockfighter is one. It seems to be quite cheaply available on DVD (Australia and Europe) there are also one or two copies on Youtube, although I’m not too sure about the quality though. I know it’s a film that will be worth waiting for, just for the presence of Warren Oates, who is just about my favourite actor from a golden age of American movies. 

  2. Thank you for the kind words 🙂 Cockfighter is another Monte Hellman classic and Warren Oates is truly one of the great actors from that era. Speaking of Monte Hellman, Two-Lane Blacktop was another film that was introduced by Alex Cox on Moviedrome back in the day. But then again, you already knew that 🙂 Anyway, thanks for dropping by 🙂

  3. Oh I remember it well. It must have been the summer of 1989, I played my VHS recording for years until it finally wore out.
