  1. I think Elia Kazan is one of the most consistently underrated directors in history. Anyone who could gives us perfection like Streetcar and Waterfront must be a genius… I’m going to try my best to watch America America as soon as possible. I believe it may be Kazan’s most personal film.

  2. Elia Kazan is most certainly a great director. If he does come off as less talked about among great directors, part of it may be due to his naming names (though he had good intentions) to the House of UnAmerican Activities committees during the 1950’s. I remember when he was being honored for a lifetime achievement Oscar back in 1999, their were as many people celebrating him as their were those who were condemning him. Anyway, thanks for dropping by 🙂
