All great ones 🙂 Anyway, thanks for dropping by 🙂
Out of the Past is my favorite Tourneur film. Cat People and Leopard Man are terrific films. Those are the only films of his I’ve seen. The concept of Cat People is remarkable and very risque for the time. I actually liked the remake, though I’m probably in the minority. It’s not nearly as good as the original.
Out of the Past was one of the quintessential Film Noirs of the 1940’s and those horror films he directed for Val Lewton were just amazing. You are most certainly right about Cat People. In some ways, it was ahead of its time. I do like the 1982 remake as well though I will admit that it is no classic. Anyway, thanks for dropping by and keep those comments coming 🙂
I am going with your top two, John. Both excellent films.
‘Cat People’ is undoubtedly one of the best films of that era, and never bettered in the genre.
Best wishes, Pete.
