  1. Hmm…Nolan. OK, you didn’t know this until now, but I don’t ‘do’ comic-book franchise films. I read the comics as a child, and loved them. But never thought they translated to film at all. 🙂 Just me…
That said, I really like the brain-twisting concept of ‘Memento’, and the tricks and style of ‘The Prestige’. Remaking ‘Insomnia’ was not only unforgivable, and totally unnecessary, it was just pointless in the extreme, and far inferior to the Norwegian original.
I haven’t watched any of the others, and doubt I will be bothering with ‘Dunkirk’. Not when I can still watch John Mills in the 1958 film of the same name.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I think Memento is a brilliant film and I’ve only seen it once. It’s a movie that I’m going to have to watch at least another two or three times to completely wrap my head around it. I’m so glad that you’ve reminded me of it John.
To me, it is far superior to The Usual Suspects which, in some ways, I think is a similar film. I haven’t seen Dunkirk yet and I’m kicking myself for that; I had the opportunity to see it on IMax. (Imagine that, seeing a cerebral film on IMax. Ha!)
As for The Dark Knight, it’s an amazing film. Like Pete, I don’t usually go for comic book films though I know that there are many good and even great ones. The Dark Knight is one a few exceptions in this genre for me. Brilliant in every aspect of filmmaking.

  3. Memento is my favorite of his great films and I have to check out that 1958 Dunkirk theatrically distributed by Metro Goldyn-Mayer with Ealing Studios as the Production Company. Anyway, thanks for dropping by and keep those comments coming 🙂

  4. As I said to Pete, Memento is my favorite of Nolan’s great films and yes, it is superior to The Usual Suspects in my opinion. Dunkirk and The Dark Knight are both great as well though and yeah Dunkirk on IMAX was amazing. Anyway, thanks for dropping by 🙂
